Reorganization of management and production optimization

Project Description

In late February, consultants of "ALT" completed the project with the Federal State Unitary Enterprise "Scientific-Production Association of Applied Mechanics named after Academician MF Reshetnev "- a leading Russian developer and manufacturer of satellites for military and civil purposes. The project of "Reorganization of management and production optimization" was largely devoted to the formulation of a coherent vision between the key managers of the Company of how to build a perspective management system, starting from the set of businesses that are currently available in the enterprise, as well as considering the prospects for building the Corporation, where NPO-PM will be the leading company and which will include up to 10 companies of allied NPO PM. One of the intermediate results of the consultants work was the formulation of the concept of NPO-PM development for the period of 2005-2015.

Another extremely important aspect of the work was the project of "non-core assets" of NPO PM – Social sphere, support and procurement departments and divisions that employ up to 25% of the personnel. The active work of consultants with the heads of the departments, as well as the Companys management, enabled to formulate acceptable to all parties decision on non-core assets - the creation on their basis independent businesses focused on work with both NPO-PM, as well as external clients. In the medium term, non-core units and shops have to compete for NPO PM orders with the outside contractors on the tender basis. Consultants, together with the specialists from the divisions and departments had prepared plans for the development of units for the period of 2005-2006.

Overall, this project was particularly interesting because in addition to the expert component of the work, which is often a key to the work of the consultants, a significant role in the project had played a process element - matching a wide range of opinions within the company about the prospects for business development and advanced system of management, the principles of non-core assets and the interaction with data entities.

The project with NPO PM has been implemented in conjunction with our longstanding partner - "Interagency Analysis Center" (MAC), which was the contractor for this project.

The project with NPO PM is not the first project implemented by “ALT RC” consultants with federal state unitary enterprises. In 2003-2005, our consultants have implemented several projects with the Federal State Unitary Enterprise "Siberian Chemical Combine" (Seversk) and the Federal State Unitary Enterprise "Russian Federal Nuclear Center-VNIIEF" (Sarov).
