The company is Russias largest production of interior doors made of natural materials, has an extensive distribution network in the federal territory of Russia and several retail shops.

Statement of the Problem

As the Companys business had reached a certain scale, it became necessary to define more clearly where to develop. Another important task was to develop a common understanding of the strategy for all top managers, which would allow the owner to involve in management much less. 

What we have done

The main feature of the project was its format (Do-It-Yourself-Strategy) - in fact the strategy was developed by the managers of the company themselves, with the active support of the consultants.
In the framework of the project there have been conducted a detailed analysis of the structure and built a forecast of the Russian market of interior doors, and analyzed the main possible directions for the company. According to the results of the analysis there have been formulated several strategic alternatives of the companys development and during the strategy session there have been picked the base scenario. Later it was detailed in the concept of development, including the configuration of the business, marketing strategy, a set of strategic projects and enlarged economic and financial plan.
The Management of the company independently worked through all most important elements of the strategy. The role of consultants was, above all, in setting objectives, planning and controlling the strategic process, its methodology support, expertise and structuring of ideas and accumulating materials, assisting in formulating a common position within the group discussions. An important element of the project were regular discussions and strategy sessions in which the management team discussed the interim results, generated ideas and made important strategic decisions on business development.
This format played an important role in creating a team uniform and consistent vision of the direction of the company and had significantly improved the team spirit, its motivation and focus on achieving agreed objectives.

Results

The developed strategy was clearly to limit the development trends and identify the steps necessary to achieve the Company objectives. An important result of the project was the determination of the key features of the new plant: power, produced range of products, equipment configuration, as well as the stages of its launch.
At the same time working together on the project consultants and employees of the Company have allowed not only to strengthen the analytical and strategic competence of senior managers of “Volhovtsa "and unite the team, but also to explain the strategy up to the specialists of departments included in the project.achieve the Company objectives. An important result of the project was the determination of the key features of the new plant: power, produced range of products, equipment configuration, as well as the stages of its launch.
